Zelman Style Interiors is a full-service interior design firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial interiors for individual clients´ custom homes and villas, as well as model merchandising for new home builders and developers. Zelman Style Interiors (ZLMN), a nationally recognized, award-winning professional services consulting firm, is expanding its team in South Florida! Please see below for what positions are open.

Interior Designer

Our full-time Interior Designers are involved with:

  • Preparation, presentation, and documentation for schematic design.

  • Assist homeowners/project leads, through face-to-face and virtual meetings, emails, and phone calls to make selections for their homes/projects in line with their goals and vision.

  • Work on research for products and materials.

  • Review construction and administration documents.

  • Assist designers and office managers with samples and office organization.

  • Assist with installs and general design scheme mock-ups, as well as organizing orders.

  • Assist designers and office managers with damaged items, claims, and execution of solutions.

Primary Responsibilities
This individual must demonstrate solid design thinking and strong knowledge of design fundamentals as expressed by their portfolio. S/he must possess good oral and written communication skills and must be able to clearly present and explain a design concept to supervisors and peers. Having the ability to take direction from others and maintain a positive attitude is paramount, along with being a self-starter and team player.

  • Additionally, candidates must have professional written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist project manager in coordination/meetings with clients, architects, contractors, painters, electricians, vendors, or any other party involved in the project.

  • Develop working drawings & details into renderings.

  • Understand basic construction & fabrication techniques to inform the development of interior construction & furniture detail drawings.

  • Create & manage project schedules & specifications (i.e., finish, plumbing, appliances, hardware). Assist project manager in project supervision including scheduling, contractor coordination, and sub-contractor management.

  • Assist project manager with client account management including order processing, invoicing, vendor payment, and project documentation. Assist project manager in coordinating/supervising project installations.

  • Manage particular projects, individually, with oversight from the project manager. Produce goal for billable hours on project work per month and account for a time within time billing system, weekly. Promote the firm and employees by attending openings and functions provided by trade members.

  • Assist in maintaining an orderly samples library & developing processes to organize new vendor resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in an interior design firm or equivalent

  • Prior Firm Experience Required

  • Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Luminous 3D Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp/Rhino (or similar), Bluebeam, Design Manager, and Microsoft Office

Interior Design Coordinator

Responsibilities include assisting with preparing, coordinating, and completing designs, presentations, and construction document packages; researching, evaluating, and selecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), materials, and finishes; creating scheme boards for internal review and client approval.

Primary Responsibilities
This individual must demonstrate solid design thinking and strong knowledge of design fundamentals as expressed by their portfolio. S/he must possess good oral and written communication skills and must be able to clearly present and explain a design concept to supervisors and peers. Having the ability to take direction from others and maintain a positive attitude is paramount, along with being a self-starter and team player. A strong desire to learn about and progress through the interior design profession is critical.

AutoCAD Designer / Renderer

Primary Responsibilities
Successful candidates will have experience working on a variety of architecture and engineering projects end to end, from inspection through execution. Candidates should be self-motivated, well-rounded, and capable of multi-tasking across projects. All prospective applicants must be U.S. citizens or be eligible to work in the United States (unfortunately, we are not offering sponsorship at this time).

  • Use software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects.

  • Collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems.

  • Knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and materials.

  • Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.

  • Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards.

  • Attend regular development meetings.

  • Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.

  • Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs.

  • Make revisions to models as requested.

  • Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.

  • Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.

Required Qualifications

  • B.A. in Architecture or Technical school graduate

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in architectural offices or equivalent

  • Experience as Job Captain on exterior restoration and interiors

  • Understanding of project schedules and time management

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture, Luminous 3D Studio, & V-Ray

  • Proficiency in using SketchUp and ability to hand sketch

  • Architectural drafting, layer management, sheet setup, and plotting

  • Well-rounded skills in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Ability to create an architectural plan/construction document with minimal input from schematic design

  • Knowledge of building components, and construction methods

  • Well-rounded communication skills, both oral & written

  • Knowledge of tangential areas of engineering is a plus
